Questions

What kind of projects does Paul Lauren Designs take on?

Most PLD engagements are whole-home interiors, new construction and renovations, typically from $300,000 to more than $5 million. The studio also furnishes completed homes and designs second homes that are delivered ready to live in.

Where is the studio, and which areas do you serve?

The studio is at 16419 N 91st St, Suite A125, Scottsdale, Arizona. We focus on North Scottsdale, including DC Ranch, Silverleaf, Grayhawk, Troon, Desert Highlands, Windgate Ranch and Pinnacle Peak, as well as greater Scottsdale and Paradise Valley. Our work has also followed clients to San Diego, Park City, Idaho, Texas and Montana.

Who will design my home?

Lauren Rautbord, Owner and Principal, and Kendra Vaughn, Partner, lead every project personally. Lauren has more than 30 years of interior design experience and deliberately manages the size of the studio so she stays hands-on from the first meeting to the final installation.

Do you work with architects and builders on new construction?

Yes. We are happiest joining early, reviewing plans alongside your architect and builder so that millwork, lighting, finishes and the furniture plan are resolved together rather than one after another.

Do you take on renovations?

Yes, from kitchens and baths to whole homes. Aspen Renovation and Sun Valley Renovation in our portfolio are two examples of complete renovations.

Can you design a second home in another state?

Yes. Many clients ask us to follow them to mountain, lake and coastal homes, and the portfolio includes homes in Aspen, Sun Valley, Coeur d'Alene, Pacific Palisades and Chicago.

What is the Paul Lauren Designs style?

Serene, uncluttered spaces that are sumptuously livable: luxurious fabrics, neutral palettes and furnishings full of warmth and personality. Lauren mixes vintage and contemporary pieces, believes less is more, and designs every room to embrace its view.

How does the design process work?

Projects move through five stages: discovery, concept and space planning, design development, procurement and project management, and installation. Each stage is presented for your approval before the next begins.
